Meet the Team

Ben Blair

General Manager

Ben has recently joined the Perry Modular team as General Manager to provide focused leadership to realign the business with an emphasis on delivering this innovative modular product at scale to the market.

With many years’ operational and management experience working in a diverse range of industries, Ben is passionate about delivering performance turnaround by creating and implementing effective strategies. 

He is collaborative and people-focused, providing strong leadership to lead change management and provide a sustainable operating business model that delivers growth.

In his spare time, Ben is a budding family man who takes every opportunity to run (especially along the West Coast), eat healthy - honest food, and enjoys good wine and company.

Adena Mackin

Financial Controller

Adena Mackin is the Financial Controller at Perry Modular Homes and has been involved in the construction industry for a number of years in other roles.

She supports the business through sound financial reporting, commercial thinking and a keen interest in system and process improvement.  Prior to this, Adena spent 11 years with Fulton Hogan in a number of roles including Management Accountant, Regional Accountant and Finance Manager for the IT function across New Zealand and Australia.

Adena is a New Zealand Chartered Accountant and holds a bachelor degree in Accountancy and Taxation from University of Canterbury.  Outside of Perry Modular Homes, Adena spends her time at her property in Cambridge and enjoys riding horses and firing up the pizza oven.

Kellie McIntosh

Lead Designer

Kellie’s career in the building industry started in 2006 and since then she has completed her Diploma of Architecture technology and is a Licensed Building Practitioner in Design 2. 

As Leader Designer, she has a passion for building design and sustainability and has been involved in the concept of bringing the modular product to market with Perry Modular Homes.  Kellie is excited about the innovation, efficiencies and opportunities that currently exist within the New Zealand residential market.

In her spare time when she isn’t breathing modular, you can find Kellie spending time with friends and family, walking her dogs or surfing whenever ‘surfs up’.

Martin Whiteley

Factory Manager

Martin joined the Perry Modular team as Factory Manager late 2019 and he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Perry Modular Homes team with his 20 years in operations and management roles across Australia and New Zealand.

Working mainly in the Powdercoating and Manufacturing industries, Martin is passionate about the LEAN manufacturing improvement process and is currently working with a team to implement this into the Perry Modular Homes factory. 

Martin is married with two daughters and lives on a lifestyle block with a number of farm and domestic animals.  In his younger days, Martin used to compete in sailing internationally, he is a keen motorsports fan and enjoys travel.

Steve Tucker

Chairman

Steve Tucker is the Chairman of the Perry Modular Homes board and is also currently the Executive Chairman at the Gallagher Group. 

With a 25 year career at the Gallagher Group, Steve’s previous role was the Group’s Deputy Chief Executive.  He has had an extensive governance career serving on the board of Methven as well as the Waikato Institute of Technology and numerous associate and subsidiary companies where Gallagher has an equity investment interest.

With experience in LEAN manufacturing, Steve is passionate about implementing this process in the Perry Modular Homes factory to gain efficiencies and productivity while scaling up the modular homes product.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Waikato and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Member of the NZ Institute of Directors

Steve is married to Sarah and together they have 4 children.  In his leisure time, he enjoys spending time with his children and two granddaughters, as well as getting outdoors, particularly mountain biking.

Simon Perry

Director

As a founding director, Simon is passionate about the future of off-site building for New Zealand and believes housing prices for young kiwi home buyers needs to come down.  He thinks Perry Modular can play a valuable role.  

Simon is Chair of the Perry Group of companies and serves on several not for profit charities including Brian Perry Charitable Trust and Te Awa River Ride.  Simon received a ONZM for services to the community and is passionate about the Waikato region.

Simon has a Bachelors’ Degree in Management from the University of Waikato, and Property (1st class honours) from Massey University, and also completed a three year OPM program at Harvard University.  When not involved with his companies or community projects, Simon can be found riding his bike around the rural Waipa roads, or on local golf courses looking for sliced tee shots.  He is a father of four and married to Marlene.

Richard Coventry

Richard is passionate about the Waikato and believes Perry Modular Housing can deliver much needed housing solutions for the region.

Richard has worked for the Perry Group for 15 years initially joining the company in 2003.  He took over the Chief Executive role in 2011 and oversees all the investments held by the Perry Group and the Perry family.

The Perry Group was established in 1954 and invests in a range of industries, including importing, land development, food export and hot dip galvanising. The company also works alongside the Brian Perry Charitable Trust which has a strong focus on initiating projects that make the Waikato a more vibrant place.

Richard is born and raised in the Waikato, married to Lisa with 3 children. He holds a Bachelor of Business Studies and is an Associate Chartered Accountant. Before his business career Richard played professional rugby for the Chiefs, Hurricanes and also played for Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan for 3 years.
